How to make a successful UI/UX design solution for a startup from the scratch?

1. Stay Engaged

When dealing with startups, the first rule is to be involved in the entire work process and product. Any startup should support and live its company’s vision, thus a trusted UI/UX designer or a team of designers should as well!

Designers may prepare valid samples from their portfolio, research the niche and perform a quick competitor analysis, and test practices to gain a deeper understanding of the business before the initial conversation with the entrepreneurs. They should also be professional in the field if startups want to build an excellent design.

2. Research and Study

UX Researchers are always the ones who start the work for startups. They assist both your client and you in better understanding the business and concept.

If your startup has nothing (just an idea), include the following in your UX research:

• Market and competitor analysis.
• Study on jobs to be done based on “to do _____, when _________, I need to __________”.
• MVP functions list: based on the jobs to be done, outline the app’s most significant functions.
• A screen map and a user flow diagram.

If the startup already has an MVP and wants to improve it, you can undertake the following research:

• Examine the existing solution.
• Audit of rivals and best practices, with a breakdown of which functions you can take from them.
• A new structure and screen map.

3. Creating a visual system

Startup entrepreneurs are brilliant, but professional designer must also be eager and enthusiastic about user interface design. After the UX research is completed, review the client’s references to determine their level of visual education. Designer may then take command of the design process and create the best visual solution for the product.

Because most startups are confused about how their business should appear, designers must demonstrate their ability by creating their own visual system. After the home screen is finished, it’s vital to get an agreement with the startup on the visual direction.

4. Support and Talk

When it comes to startups, simply starting a project and walking away isn’t enough. Designers must always interact with the developers and the startup if they have any questions. The launch is the most important component, and designers must make sure that the product is introduced with their design.

Furthermore, entrepreneurs frequently demand ongoing assistance throughout the development of an app, from the MVP to the complex version. So, if any designer wants to expand their portfolio with a profitable firm, they must support and help.
